Showtimers has been running for nearly 50 years!
Back in the 1960’s, some members of the local Royal British Legion formed ‘The Entertainers’.
They put on ‘Theme nights’ and entertainment for the local village. With a desire to put on full length shows, but no ladies to take part in them, the Women’s institute became involved.
In 1973 a meeting took place at the Station Hotel in South Nutfield where the decision was made to form an independent organisation.
Showtimers was born!
In March 1974, Showtimers performed their first official show ‘A musical evening’ at the village hall. Since then Showtimers has put on a range of different shows including Cabaret’s, Pantos, Musicals, Plays and Murder mysteries, involving a mix of ages from young to old, both on and off stage.
Showtimers created a legacy of a love for performing but more importantly, a love for community!
We are always looking for new members!
We accept people from all backgrounds and skill sets, and believe that anyone should be able to take part in one of our shows. We also welcome people who want to be directors, set designers, musicians or part of our tech team!
for anyone wanting to perform there is a performing fee of £20 for an adult and £10 for a child (under 18yrs), this fee contributes towards the cost of running showtimers and the productions we do . If you have any questions, please get in contact :)
